The NTEU, Chapter 280, that consists of and represents all of the toxicologists, chemists, biologists and other professionals at EPA headquarters, Washington, D.C., on July 2, 1997, voted unanimously to cosponsor the California Safe Drinking Water Initiative, citing, “Our members’ review of the body of evidence over the last eleven years, including animal and human epidemiology studies, indicate a casual link between fluoride/fluoridation and cancer, genetic damage, neurological impairment, and bone pathology. Of particular concern are recent epidemiology studies linking fluoride exposure to lowered IQ in children.

The reason the National Federation of Federal Employees, (NFFE) Union, which represents all scientists, engineers, lawyers, and other professionals at EPA headquarters in Washington, DC, voted unanimously to co-sponsor a California Initiative to prohibit fluoridation.
